Stories from the midwest, dreaming of more.

Cathryn Kreatzner is a communications professional and, by training, a journalist. Now, she is a new novelist working on her first memoir. Just 60 miles from where she grew up in rural Wisconsin, she works in Madison in the nonprofit and government fields, helping connect the ideas of public policy and programs with community resilience and strength. Before focusing her work more locally, she worked in international development where she wrote and published stories about refugees in Jordan. She has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

But more importantly, Cat is a daughter, sister, wife, and friend to people who have been hurt by their community and struggle with addiction and mental health. In her position at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Cat has found purpose in storytelling and public service to get people the health care and affirmation they need, when they need it.
